A Silent Film, Scored Live

F. W. Murnau's Nosferatu (1922), one of the most influential horror films ever made, rises again at AFS Cinema this October. This time it plays with live music. Austin Camerata presents the North American premiere of Yuval Gotlibovich's evocative, ethereal score for viola and cello. Alexander Smith and Cory Blais perform it live as Count Orlok's shadow creeps across the screen. It's a century-old horror classic with music the way silent films were meant to have it: live, in the room, just in time for Halloween.
